Mesa Serves Up Pistachio, 2025’s Flavor of the Year

Local eateries infuse menus with the versatile nut, reflecting the city's evolving food culture

Mesa's culinary scene is experiencing a delightful transformation as pistachio emerges as the flavor of 2025.

From cozy cafés to upscale restaurants, this versatile nut is making its mark across the city.

In downtown Mesa, the annual Flavors on Main event has become a showcase for innovative pistachio creations.

Local establishments are offering pistachio-infused lattes, pastries, and even savory dishes, drawing food enthusiasts eager to explore new tastes.

One standout is the newly opened Main Burgers on West Main Street.

Known for its late-night offerings, the eatery has introduced a pistachio-crusted burger that has quickly become a local favorite.

Chef Armando Hernandez notes, "The subtle nuttiness of pistachios adds a unique twist to our classic burger."

Not to be outdone, Cielito Rosa Bakery has unveiled a pistachio concha, blending traditional Mexican sweet bread with the nutty flavor.

Co-founder Secilia Zamudio shares, "We wanted to honor our heritage while embracing current trends."

Even ice cream parlors are joining the movement.

At the recently opened Salt and Straw in nearby Gilbert, patrons can indulge in pistachio gelato, a creamy treat that has garnered rave reviews.

As Mesa's food culture continues to evolve, the embrace of pistachio reflects the city's blend of tradition and innovation.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to explore these new offerings and savor the flavor that's defining 2025.
